Effects of Inverse Halftoning in Watermarking
نویسندگان
چکیده
In this paper we discuss the effects of applying inverse halftoning before detection of watermark in halftoned images. Inverse halftoning can be thought of as another distortion to the watermarked image. We will show an enhancement in watermark detector performance if inverse halftoning is used on smooth error diffused images and a deterioration in performance if inverse halftoning is used on high frequency error diffused images. We also observed that inverse halftoning of clustered dot and ordered dither images deteriorates the watermark detection. These results are obtained when spread spectrum (private) watermarking is used. If public watermarking based on moment invariance is used then inverse halftoning does not help in extracting the watermark.1

Using Halftoning and Watermarking Techniques for Tampering Detction
In this paper we present a system with the goal of protecting and restoring tampered information in images and videos. With the proposed approach is possible we implement a tampering detection algorithm. The proposed algorithm is based on watermarking and halftoning techniques. At the encoder side, the algorithm generates a binary version (mark) of the original image or video frame (picture) us...
متن کاملWatermarking-based Image Authentication with Recovery Capability using Halftoning and IWT
In this paper we present a watermarking algorithm for image content authentication with localization and recovery capability of the modified areas. We use a halftone image generated by the Floyd-Steinberg kernel as an approximate version of the host image. We adopt this halftone image as a watermark sequence and embed it using the quantization watermarking method into the sub-band LL of the Int...
متن کاملA Halftoning - Based Multipurpose Image Watermarking with Recovery Capability
Nowadays digital watermarking has become an important technique, because using computational tools, digital contents can be copied and/or modified easily. At the beginning, the digital watermarking has been used for either copyright protection purpose or content authentication purpose. However, in many situations both purposes (copyright protection and content authentication) are required to be...
متن کاملImage Hiding Algorithms Based on Halftoning Technique
Halftoning technique is used to convert a continuous-tone image into a binary image with pure black and white pixels. This technique is necessary when printing or displaying a monochrome or color image by a device with limited color levels. The main contribution of this paper is to present a halftoning method that conceals a small binary image into a large binary image. More specifically, two d...
متن کاملRecent Advances in Digital Halftoning and Inverse Halftoning Methods
Halftoning is the rendition of continuous-tone pictures on displays, paper or other media that are capable of producing only two levels. In digital halftoning, we perform the gray scale to bilevel conversion digitally using software or hardware. In the last 3 decades, several algorithms have evolved for halftoning. Examples of algorithms include ordered dither, error diffusion, blue noise masks...
